Funding Awarded for North Whitehall Roundabout, Mako Says
3/26/2024
HARRISBURG – Rep. Zach Mako (R-Lehigh/Northampton) today announced that a $625,000 grant has been awarded to King’s Business Park in Schnecksville for construction of a two-lane roundabout.

The funding comes from the Multimodal Transportation Fund under the Commonwealth Financing Authority, which manages the state’s economic stimulus programs. The fund provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure a safe and reliable system of transportation is available in the Commonwealth.

“This area has been growing by leaps and bounds,” Mako said. “The roundabout will help keep existing traffic moving along with the additional traffic the planned business park will create. I’m pleased my advocacy for this project paid off as it will save motorists time.”

The roundabout will be built at the intersection of routes 309 and 873. The 12-acre business park is expected to include an AutoZone, Wawa and medical office building.

The 183rd District includes Lowhill and North Whitehall townships and Slatington Borough in Lehigh County. It also consists of Allen, East Allen, Lehigh and Moore (part) townships, and Bath, North Catasauqua, Northampton and Walnutport boroughs in Northampton County.
